Naples/Sorrento area ticketing

We will be visiting Sorrento in a few weeks and making a number of journeys on the delightful Circumvesuviana narrow gauge system, and on some days also using Naples' metro system.
I've read differing reports regarding tickettng - has anyone been recently and can confirm that tap in / tap out ticketing is possible from Sorrento - Naples? Does the system also integrate to the Naples metro or is this a seperate contactless system?

I recently used contactless on the Circumvesuviana for a single trip and it worked perfectly.

I didn't transfer on to the metro so I can't say for that.

We were there last year. There are operator-specific tickets but also slightly more expensive tickets valid in all regional transport. We used 2 apps, I believe one was from the region and one from the operator but I'm not sure anymore and have already deleted the apps.
