Names for places with signallers in them?

They used to be signalboxes, sometimes, (probably unofficially) "panels" at times - then Area Signalling Centres /ASCs and now a whole bunch of letter combinations...

Would someone please lighten my darkness with acronyms, mnemonics or whatever they may be called and the meanings please?

Generally there seems to be:

PSB - Panel Signal Box - a Western Region thing.
SC - Signalling Centre - a Scottish Region thing.
ASC - Area Signalling Centre - a Southern Region thing.
PSB - Power Signal Box - seems to apply everywhere else.
IECC - Integrated Electronic Signalling Centre - a specific software concept dating from the late 1980s/1990s.
SCC - Signalling Control Centre - dates from the Railtrack / early Network Rail years.
ROC - Rail Operating Centre - Network Rail's latest concept.

SCC - Service Control Centre - London Underground term used from around 1990s. This isn't just the operating floor, but generally means the whole building, which includes facilities like training simulator, offices, admin suite, etc. Rather like Network Rail's ROC concept.

Doubtless there are others.

PSB and ASC seem to be merging into one name now, ASC is more geographical, 'Area Signalling Centre' which as the name suggest covers a wide area.
PSB: Power Signalbox, is I reckon a late 60's / 70's term for when the new PSB's were being brought in covering a load of manual boxes ?

What kind of boxes show the same as what you'd see on simsig? I've seen panels like Basingstoke and Guildford, but nothing like simsig. Also, what does Havant ASC show as?

As far as I've used it SimSig tends to model classic IECCs. A lot of workstations in ROCs look fairly similar, although in newer workstations there's a move towards using more detailed graphical displays in place of the teletext-style blocky rendering.

Basingstoke has been done as something that looks like an updated PSB. No idea why, but it's quite nice-looking.

It's a relatively short term facility until it is recontrolled into the neighbouring ROC, is the probable answer.

It's a ROC, although a large part of the building also houses a training centre.

West Midlands Signalling Centre is nicknamed 'The Dome' because its bomb proof. The signalling cabinets outside.. not so much
