No. The original station used to bear the [small] town's name and was the only station in the town. A new station was opened closer to the town centre, took the name of the old station, and the old station gained a directional suffix.

Bromley North is not on a single track stub! It might use one platform at each end, but Sundridge Park has two platforms and the line is two track throughout.

I'm thinking somewhere in Lincolnshire, or just outside of it. I couldn't say where exactly, but I would guess you mean the area immediately west of Newark; failing that, I would guess the route to Barton-on-Humber. So either [Bleasby, Fiskerton, Rolleston, Newark Castle]; or any consecutive four of [Ulceby, Thornton Abbey, Goxhill, New Holland, Barrow Haven, Barton-on-Humber].

Could have been be Altnabraec, Forsinard, Kinbrace and Kildonan-consecutive stations with ungated crossings at each, but they're not within five miles of each other. Originally I was thinking of somewhere on the west coastway - Southbourne, Nutbourne Bosham and Fishbourne, which are consecutive stations with level crossings all within five miles of each other, but the level coossings have barriers/half barriers. So....I assume that we must be looking for some tram line or maybe a narrow gauge lien somewhere.
