This station has 3 platforms it is third rail.
It has a junction to the East and West.
It is by the seaside.

Lewes? Not sure how many platforms its got.
Original guess was Dover Priory, but the junctions there are North and South of the station.

I notice you say junction to a heritage railway rather than a junction with a heritage railway, so I'll suggest it's Middlesborough?

Random guess - not sure about the steel works.

The place I am thinking about is Wymondham - it has one NR station with two platforms. A junction leading to a heritage railway but it has no regular passenger service over it! (also this place has a second station for the heritage railway)

there are 4 stations in this city which bear the name, and 4 in it's city centre. of the city centre stations, one can terminate trains from the west, one from the east and one from the south. Without reversing, no one train can serve all 4 that bear the name, or all 4 that are in the city centre.
