I had considered writing to my MP but haven't done so yet. I think maybe I should make it one of my top priorities.

Unfortunately it means using things like the 10% discount offered by many credit cards for booking with LNER rather than the forum's trainsplit

I recently got a 13% discount on four of my cards for using the Virgin Trains ticketing app which also gives virgin red points.

I thought that was the brand new one (not that I know much about consoles except what certain acquaintances ram into my rather anachronistic brain!)

I've thought of another one - visit York Road (of Maidenhead United) before it gets replaced with a brand new stadium. I seem to recall it is something like the oldest football stadium in continuous use by one team.

By using a mix of the routing guide, time restrictions and advances for longer travel where offered.

Since July this year compared to last year I am travelling on trains less but I think that is because I am not going into London as much for social events and the cheaper bus fares mean they undercut the train more so I use them to get to work when I go in.

My less travel though is only based on journeys under £13 with a gold card discount. I am still making regular journeys over that price and I can't say if it is as many as last year but possibly roughly the same.

Well it has about as much chance as this government's stop the boats top priority so perfectly valid priority. Just another one that won't be met.

In the next 12 months - fix my central heating.
It's currently on the blink but I can make it work by fiddling with it - the boiler works and the pump can be made to work - but I really don't want to spend any money on it currently.
October 2024 I'm lucky to get an option of a lump sum from a pension, so I can pay for a replacement system then. With luck I can get the work done earlier in the year and go on holiday whilst it's happening.
Anyway, having a reliable working system for next winter would be good. I think I can get by this winter on what I have.

The 3DS is no way new - it has since discontinued production, probably because of newer consoles such as the Nintendo Switch and PS4.

I have another in another room with a similar number, and I think I haven’t looked at any. Maybe it's because they are in a way far more personal to you, a reflection on where you were on your way through life and it might almost be like throwing out old family photographs, although I've met people who can do that with abandon. There's also the practical matter that books in quantity take up lots of space and their resale value in general is rubbish. Charity shops are not really interested, with the possible exception of Oxfam with decent quality stuff. I am gradually ridding myself of personal possessions, many of them bought by my late wife, but I feel that the thousands of books will mostly still be here when I go!

My main priority is to be the best Dad and partner I can. Next year, I want to find a long term career and start playing golf again. I don't have an excuse with the latter any more either, a friend and my future father-in-law both play themselves.

I actually want to watch Parliament sometime but do I want to take a day off work to do so.
