Does anyone know why the name field is used on Rovers and Rangers? I don't think conductors, etc. ever check it against anything (besides there is no requirement to carry ID around with you, at least I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere). I would hazard a guess that it could prevent transferring the ticket when you have finished using it, but as I said, is it ever checked? Why bother with it?
