This may be a stretch too far, this far down the road, but in the background of a photo I took at Wick in 1981 there is a grounded vehicle body, which I would belatedly like to confirm its identity. Enlarging the part of the image concerned as best I can (still far from perfect), I believe, with the help of Hugh Longworth's 'BR Pre Nationalisation Coaching stock part 1 (GWR/LNER)' it may be one of only two such six wheel vehicles built for the GNoSR to a Wm. Pickersgill design and numbered E710 & E711. The aforementioned book states both vehicles survived to become grounded for other uses, although one was broken up as recently as 2013. There is no mention of the fate of the remaining one.
In the attached image it is possible that a stove pipe has been fitted to far end of the vehicle, as can just be made out above the roof line?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/thoughts. Is this one still around (grounded?) on one of the preserved lines possibly?

There is a close-up on ambaile of what may be the same body; ignore the caption. Try Googling wick van body.

Thanks both. Just located same as well. Definitely one of either E710 or 711 without a doubt. Cheers.

Does it still survive somewhere?
Part of my question. One of the two is recorded as scrapped in 2013 (see my OP above), the fate of the other is unknown (to me). Was the Wick one the scrapper of 2013 or is it still extant somewhere in some form?

I have looked through the Highland Railway Society’s Journals from 2013 to 2016 and cannot find any reference to the van. The GNoSRA might have had something in theirs, but I am not a member.

+According to the Vintage Carriage Trust's website list of surviving coaches
the body of E710 survives in use as a garage in Ellon,Aberdeenshire. There is
a picture of it as well.

There is also a picture of E711 at Alford which was scrapped in circa 2013.
Whatever the Wick coach body is it doesn't appear to be one of these two.
