Can anyone tell me if it is running this weekend? Would anybody know the running times on saturday n sunday.I know its asking a lot but I have been to Didcot 2 times without luck in the last couple of weeks and hope this might save me unnecesary trips until I get the photo.I tried asking the locals without much luck so hope coming on here might help.

Unfortunately nobody will be able tell until early hours of the day itself as allocations are made during the night. Can't sign off without welcoming you to the Forum

Seems stuck on padd to Penzance route at present had it several times in past two weeks so I think ul be lucky to get it at Didcot this weekend but as stated aBove it is possible but allocations are done the night before.
If anyone in loco allocations is listening btw please will u put the two intercity power cars onto a stint on the padd to pz route as I like most Plymouth drivers have barely touched either since they were repainted LOL!!

Didcot will not be the place to get much in the way of HST action due to a second weekend of Didcot-Swindon blockades.

Reading would be a far better bet.

I've seen various spotters at Reading every now and then, so i would assume its alright with them. Might be an idea to let the staff know your spotting just to avoid any possible hassle

RE: Reading, whilst I haven't gone there for the purposes of spotting, I have changed trains on the odd occasion, most recently over the summer when I had a good 45 mins there and wandered around the station taking the odd photo on my phone - didn't have any issues with that. Got photos of the Harry Patch powercar about 18 months ago at Plymouth - I seem to recall I wasn't alone!

172 is BOOKED to finish in Penzance tonight meaning it is likely to be in service tomorrow and should hit Reading anytime after 9ish
