Hi

Is anyone able to advise what work will be going on between Manchester and Euston and Liverpool street and Norwich on the Monday.

I am wanting to travel in the afternoon from Norwich to Manchester via London. Will this be possible?

Whilst AP tickets are not out yet, I am sure that someone must know the engineering posesions...

Thanks

James

WCML is shut all lines at Wembley (and for the weekends either side). VTWC not doing diverts as the route knowledge has been given up so it’ll be the usual do not travel “advice” and passengers dispersing as they choose across XC/MML/Chiltern.

Isn't the work at Euston anyway? They would have to divert to Paddington via West Ealing and Greenford. But Crossrail works still ongoing so that option may not be available.

And won't Derby be disrupted with the resignalling works if you choose the MML route?
Manchester-Nottingham-Peterborough-Norwich might still work.
Have you thought of Manchester-Leeds-Peterborough-Norwich?
That would all depend on ECML works, of course.

What’s wrong with the direct EMT route, is it up for engineering works as well?

Derby shouldn’t affect the MML too much, I believe they’re just running through Toton fast to Chesterfield and bussing to Derby.

4.5hrs on a 158, with the possibility of a 156?? No thanks :D the EM 158s are great, but it regularly runs late, terminates/starts at Nottingham, and is full to the brim. Probably not the most comfy journey ever imo.

Fair point - I've done most of that journey the other way, and was starting to get a bit fed up by Ely (and I have a higher tolerance than some I think). For me, not going via London is always more important, I can put up with a bit to much 158 if it avoids having to use the tube to change through London - but then we're all different!

Leeds to Carlisle all stops is probably my absolute max, and the 158s are one of my favourite if not my favourite DMUs
