Many thanks.

One that jumps out at me is the KVB system. Is part of this signalling system used for the Pendolinos and Voyagers in the UK, or is it totally different?

My understanding of KVB is it checks and controls the speed of the train via data transmitted from balises on the track, the system used for Pendolinos and Voyagers is called TASS (Tilt Authorisation and Speed Supervision) and works in a similar way with track side Eurobalises (complies with ETCS specifications) but also controls when the train can tilt.

I don't think it's the same system just a different implementation that works in a similar way.

KVB is basically an ATP system (like GWR or Chiltern ATP). TASS is not an ATP system - it is for Pendolino and Voyager tilt control. They might use similar transponders, but the systems are for very different things.

The HST NMT will be staying and as said earlier, will probably be the last HST in mainline operation. The next NMT will be for HS2.

(BTW don't quote me on this. These are all speculations based off educated guesses.)
