My idea for deltic 55023?

I have to say that I don't think that's an enormous improvement, though I am in awe of this guy's photoshopping skills!

It's a pity he seems to have disappeared. Still, the original design couldn't be much uglier (oh hang on a minute, I've just seen a Class 70).

Indeed, although at least Class 70's do have the good grace to set fire to themselves on a frequent basis and spend long periods out of sight

One of the main 'ugly' problems with the 66's for me are those enormous Tonka Toy bogies, they look awful. If a Class 60 is more powerful but manages with a relatively graceful and understated design, why does a 66 have to look like the Incredible Hulk?!

Not sure I'd call them graceful and understated, to me they always look like female security guards - women you don't mess with! This might be an interesting split thread, what do different classes remind you of?

I was told at Railfest that 55002 is expected to return to mainline service this year with a railtour booked for the end of the year - but the tour has not been announced yet. I was also told that Alycidon is coming along nicely as well, someone mentioned the end of next month.
