Was the piccy of the Turbo taken at North Camp from the (albeit perfectly legal) bottom of the platform ramp? If so, try sitting on that wall when a Voyager races through

Generally i'd probably agree.
Noting how everything sub-zero and cool (with the odd exception) is age defined, the modern stuff all appears to be crap.
I'd at least have the 444 in uncool

Turbostars are too boring to be cool. Pacers are definitely cool; the whole population of Devon and the Welsh Valleys tries to fit into them every day so they must be good.
Never actually seen a Deltic on the move so cannot comment on them - anyone else think they're cool? Same goes for 185's.
And yes, the Turbo shot was from North Camp.

Well i like the Deltic's, but there not my favourite loco's, not really like over the top fussed about them

Lol ok, well when Deltic 22 came up to Aberdeen (before she blew up), i didwatch her depart and heard her for a good 4-5 minutes so i can see what you mean.
Talking about sleepers, there seems like there were loads running about through the night years ago, so why is there only 2 left now? Caledonian & the FGW one.
Also was watching 'Thrash' and there's two 37s at Dalwhinnie with the Inverness Portion of the sleeper, and this day it's 6 coaches long, but years ago it was i dunno 10-12?? included what looked like mail vans but they were in Intercity livery, or was it just general freight?
If the 3 sleepers were like that though, did they all run straight to London, because if the three portions joined at Edinburgh then it would have been about 30 coaches long, or did the wagons get taken off, or have i got all this comletely wrong?

Who's going to be impressed when you roll up to the buffers in a 158? 
Few new omissions now included; Deltics not made it into the fridge - something that allegedly sounds like farting in a bathtub isn't that cool.

I generally agree, the only two that really stand out as being wrong to me are the 31 (about half way, definitly not one of the most sub-zero things on there), and the 153 (un-cool), oh and I don't get what's so bad about the 89, I'd probably have it as the coolest of the electrics, and the 87 should be higher. Nice to see the 180 up high, out of the modern stuff they do have a lot going for them, would have been even better if Barbie hadn't got her hands on them, and they had been reliable.

89....Not really a thing of beauty; most uncool, you get half way to Newcastle and it would break down. So good they never made any more of them.

91s are the best looking things either though, and wern't exactly well known for reliability early on, infact it was only really GNER's 91/1 major overhauls that really got them sorted out. The 89 must win cool points on it's uniqueness though, not only being the only one of it's class, but also the unique design, a 125mph, 25kV Co-Co, something rare anywhere and unique in the UK. It's a more powerful loco with higher tractive effort aswell, so better performance, even if lacking the same top speed (not that it's ever been useful for anything more than publicity stunts for 91s).
