Hi everyone,

I turn 31 in September, and I'm aware the best practice to extend your 26-30 railcard is to renew it the day before your birthday. However, that won't work for me as the railcard doesn't expire until December (it can only be renewed within 30 days of expiry).

So my question is - can I simply buy a completely new 26-30 railcard the day before my 31st birthday? Is there a rule against (i.e. will the app let me) have two railcards of the same type given they will crossover for a few months?

TIA.

I don't see why not. I bought a new under 26-railcard the day before my 26th birthday, despite the current one having a while to run.
Mind you, that was a while ago - the first train I used it on was, I think, a 4VEG!

You most definitely can. Likewise, nothing prevents you from using another retailer to buy your Railcard from if you choose.
