Browsing this forum is currently nearly impossible because whenever I view a thread and then try to go back to New Posts, the thread appears to have loaded multiple times. Right clicking on the Back button I get the name of the current page repeated, sometimes over multiple pages of history and sometimes exceeding the length of the history so I can't get back to my original new post search and have to start a new one.

Seems to be happening here in Firefox but not on another PC with Explorer.

I've not noticed anything. My guess is that it's an ad causing the page to load repeatedly.

Just checked on four different computers - mix of both Firefox and Chrome and haven't noticed anything odd.

I'm not having problems, though can echo it is probably a problem with an ad. Install an ad blocker to see if it is.

I'm having the same problem on Firefox. Even this thread, opened in a new tab, has reloaded 4 times. Wasn't sure if it was forum related or not

Press F12, click to the 'Network' tab and reload to see if you can figure out what is causing the page to refresh.

Looks like it may be a Google Ads issue. That tab is going mental showing the reloads!

Whilst the issue wasn't related to the forum we've blocked the problem ad so hopefully for anyone that was having an issue it should now be fixed?

Another day and it's at it again! There is actually no ad showing at the moment on any of the pages that are doing the reload but the request URL generated is:
Code:
https://cdn.cdnvideofiles.com/JVS/Display08/wff.js?cb=1495974990

That (cdn.cdnvideofiles.com) is listed on who.is as inactive, which is very confusing as it loads text instead of a javascript file as well!

(.js is a javascript file)

Has been doing it on my Laptop running Firefox, but strangely not on every thread.

On f12 console tab I can see

"An unbalanced tree was written using document.write() causing data from the network to be reparsed. For more information https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Optimizing_Your_Pages_for_Speculative_Parsing"

That points to it being a poorly written script (been doing some web development this week so I know all about them!) My guess it's in one of the ad networks.

I've now given up on Firefox, mainly because the multiple page loads sometimes filled up the record of recent pages so it was impossible to back out from a topic to the search page. And going back to New Posts loaded a whole lot more stuff I think felt obliged to look at, sometimes resulting in the same problem again.

I'm using Firefox 54.0.1
It behaves most of the time, then suddenly I get the same page showing 20+ times on the back button. I was getting the same thing on Amazon too.

It has gone into absolute overdrive today!
There's one advert provider that's doing it - their ad keeps reloading every 15 seconds or so. Chrome is smart/dumb enough that it doesn't 'see' the reloads but Firefox does.

Behaving perfectly this evening!

I was going to ask if there was a new adblocker for Firefox that worked, as my last one died about a month ago and its update/replacement definitely isn't up to scratch.

What about AdBlock+ ?

This very page is loading over and over again this evening - I have noticed some other sites doing it now too...it most annoying!

As much as I know the forum don't wish us to block ads, I may have to consider it if Google don't buck up their ideas!

All I can do is go onto Google and block the individual adverts which has been done in the past to good success. If anyone can supply the domain name they link to, or perhaps a screenshot or a description then I can block individual ads.

I can see the one in post 20 appears to be Zipcar so I can block that now.

Chrome not showing reloads is useful when you genuinely do reload it, not even counting constant reloads, though that might be a problem. I think that, now thinking about it it might have done it to me just now, not sure though.
