Multiple delay repay claims on same ticket

if you have a ticket which involves multiple train companies and there's delays on two different sections? E.g Manchester to London Euston on VT and then somewhere to Kent on Southeastern, can you claim on delays for journeys from both companies? Is it the rules it is allowed up to the value of the ticket? Or strictly forbidden?
Does each toc have their own delay repay people? It's not done centrally is it?

You may use two or more tickets to make a journey. Delay repay applies if your journey is delayed. You claim from the company that caused the delay, if both companies trains are delayed your claim from the company that caused the first delay.

What matters is the overall delay to your journey. If the Avanti train is delayed and causes you to miss your connecting train from St Pancras then you have a claim and you should submit this claim to Avanti. Take one photo of both tickets and upload this, add the price of both tickets together and use this as the price. Just quote the ticket number of one of the tickets.

The only caveat is you need to make sure that you have left sufficient time to travel from Euston to St Pancras. This is known as the minimum connection time and for Euston - St Pancras is 35 minutes IIRC. In practice you can make this connection in far less time but if did and you tried to submit a claim it would likely be rejected.

No, you only claim from one company - that which first caused the delay. In this case that would be Avanti, unless the delay was o their train was not sufficient to cause a connection to be missed.

Not that i want to do it, but just interesting to consider hypothetically, but what practical measures are in place to stop someone 'double dipping' like that?

I suspect that it's unlikely that any rail company will reveal what their fraud detection processes are. The honest person won't be double-dipping and so won't greatly care (although you, as an honest but inquisitive person, will be frustrated at not having your curiosity satisfied): the dishonest person would benefit too much so the railways won't take the risk of releasing the information.

You mention you have a ticket (singular) so there can only be one operator responsible for the delay to your journey even if you tried to be clever. If Avanti are late, and cause you to miss a connection then they are responsible. If they're on time (or late but not late enough to cause you to miss a connection) but SE are then late and you arrive at the destination late then they are responsible. You could try to claim from both but the one not responsible would likely reject and forward to the one that was responsible. Infact, in today's world, the one responsible is increasingly likely to reject it regardless.

Well again just talking hypothetically, i could have split my journey and travelled the second leg later in the day
