Mtr working week

Hi all.

Does anybody know if MTR include Sundays into the working week or is down for overtime.

During my managers interview, I was told that it will be included in the working week.

Yes that's what I was told too. 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

From what I remember being told in the interview is that when the t&c's change in May 2016 Sunday and bank holiday working becomes part of the working week. Also the weeks are a mix of 4 day and 5 day as part of the 2 weeks off every 8 weeks is made up of annual leave and rest days from the 5 day weeks....hope that makes sense to you.

Wow! That is a lot of holiday.. 10 weeks per year

4 Day week = 156 Days off
156 days off = 22 weeks (+2 days)

Add in the standard 28 days leave per year and you can see that its just a re-balancing of the roster. I'm not sure if I could go back to a 5/6 day week as it can become intensive when you consider the shift working but a rolling 2 weeks off is very very tempting.

Is it "contractual" Rosters change on a whim so what happens now may not happen in the future.

I know the 8 weeks on 3 weeks off is at Ilford and the East side of the network.

How about the west side (Heathrow express side) any one know how there weekly pattern is? Or what they are negotiating?

I've been told Ilford is pretty intense now...but will calm down next year when it becomes a 4 day week.

Thanks for the info guys,just one more thing ,does anybody know what the shift patterns will look like as in, will it be just early,lates and night shifts or will it be all over the shop and one day you might start at 10am the next day you start at 06.30 etc
