Hi All,

I may find myself in a difficult decision soon deciding whether to work for GWR or Crossrail. I have been given a start state with GWR as long as medical is fine and have a final managers interview coming up with Crossrail. Only problem is that I would be starting training in July with GWR and would have to wait until January with Crossrail (if I pass my interview).

So I'm just asking if anyone had any advice / opinions or any insight to working with either of these tocs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Depends on your motivation. Basic pay is better at Crossrail and you + a nominee get free travel on TfL services in addition to the usual travel perks TOC staff get. Training is also shorter so you'd probably end up on post-qualified rate of pay at a similar time to that if you went with GWR (based on the dates you've given). If the work itself is more important then on the face of it GWR (assuming LTV side) would appear to offer slightly more variety, although some may disagree.
