I've been browsing through the tables of MTIN figures in the January edition of Modern Railways. There are a few surprises in there.
The Southern 455s have almost doubled since a year ago, up to 30768. Probably down to running in pairs now and no splitting or joining except in depots. They have actually overtaken the SWR 455s on 28093. I'm aware that the latter had new motors but had hoped that they would have bedded in by now.
The remaining 314s were pretty dire, dropping from 7084 last year to 4043. Some will be surprised to hear that the Moorgate 313s went up from 15100 to 16625.
The Norwich loco hauled sets are still the most reliable IC trains but they did drop from 58,323 to 53,668.
Every Welsh fleet improved on last year, especially the 143s which are now the second best fleet at 7908. The 153s are worst at 6408.
Has anyone spotted anything else noteworthy?
