On trying to install MSTS on my new system it wont pass 54% and displays a message stating that there was a disk error while writing the JP1Kitami.ace file.
I actually installed it on my old system last Sunday without problems so is this Vista related?

Nope, worked fine on Vista here. Do you have SP1 installed?

Not sure.
Have rectified it by doing a custom installation and leaving out the japanese routes but this has now caused issues with train store.

Trainstore needs all 6 default routes on your system - try cleaning your discs or copying them to HD and installing that way.

Ok mate, cheers.
If all else fails I will get another copy, its only £4.99

Those that need to know - KNOW!!!
thinking about this a little more - 54% suggests that both discs are ok as Disc1 on;y pus 27% onto your system.

1 - Run the Uninstall program from the CD

2 - Check for any residual Train Simulator folders - if they are there delete and empty recycle bin

3 - Restart PC not log off and back on. then try installing again remember to give MSTS full admin rights

may do the trick

I guess though Meld that it may be to do with where the data corruption is on the disk.

had a simular problem before, half loaded on to system then stopped and did nothing , it turned out to be my security settings stopping the program running, just a thought
