Evening all... I wonder if you guys can help me. I'm currently a Conductor with Southern.
I'm looking at relocating to the west country or north (yorkshire). I'd like to remain in the Railways, mainly as a guard. But i feel that having my current address as a Brighton one would discard me from recruitment process basically straight away.

Any ideas on how to overcome this?

Cheers.

As you are already a qualified Guard you will not have to go through the sift that the new to the business applicants will have to, just clearly state that the reason you are applying is that you want to relocate.

I applied for a guards job in Norfolk when I lived in Herefordshire and just ticking the relocation box was enough.

Had no problem when I moved between cities. As others have said just pop on your application you're wanting to move with a reason why

I was a driver for Southern based in South London until earlier this year when I changed to a West Country toc. With a family 'in tow' there were many things to consider before making this move so think long and hard about relocating if there are others to consider.
