Most surprising old stock?

I'm waiting to collect my wife from her work trip this week away from home. A pair of GWR 158s Cardiff-bound, has just departed the other platform. Good grief, they sound noisy these days! I remember the 158s when new: much less "rough" sounding

I live probably around half a mile away from the railway line and you know when a 158 is passing, so noisy. In comparison you barely hear 197s and when 175s were up here the "hum" as they passed was unmistakable.
