I was just wondering which train journeys in the UK (without changing) have the most station stops?

If we count London Underground, what about the (pre-Teacupping) Circle Line ;)

The Heart of Wales Line boasts 32 stops from Swansea to Shrewsbury.

There's a Bedford - Ashford Thameslink which has at least 29 stops on a journey of under three hours (I can't find the full pattern atm).

0612 Waterloo - Weymouth calls at 42 stations and takes a staggering 3h57.

A journey that takes longer than Kings Cross - Newcastle or London - Paris or Brussels!

Is that Waterloo to Weymouth including or excluding the start and finish?

Might be illuminatiing to include total times and distances for hese too, to get a better comparison. The Aberdeen-Penzance takes 13 hrs and 27 minutes

The 0724 ATW Pwllheli to Birmingham International has 35 intermediate stops, but some of those are requests!

There's a Carlisle to Preston service on the Cumbrian coast line with 33 intermediate stops - although quite a few are request stops.

(sorry, can't count!)

You're correct of course, although that train is essentially three or four local routes joined together, indeed the 0630 overtakes it and arrives in Weymouth 29 minutes prior.
