We havn't had a round of this fiendish little beast in a while, so I thought I'd start a new game and see just how quickly (Or not) we can get there. <D

To keep things simple and relatively quick-starting, I suggest we stick with Stovolds for the first few moves. :)

Anyhow...Having come in on a heavily delayed SWT 455 and in dire need of the W(&)C, I'm taking a token and making a simple move to Bank. 8)

erm Waterloo

Lucky he's chosen the Stovold's rules - any other wouldn't allow you to immediately return to where you've come from!

I will be sneaky and use the little known rule 39d to enable me to go to Arnos Grove. :D

Easily counter that with High Barnet (Phew, nearly put Totteridge and Whetstone - that would have blown it:oops:)

I was fortunate enough to observe the Grand Masters of this game playing at Newcastle's Theatre Royal in June, together with the delightful Samantha, so I'm very confident that I can squeeze in a Lyttelton's Third to get me to...

Edgeware Road

I suggest you study very carefully the rules laid down at this site.

Which, of course, gets us into the loop and back to Lambeth North...

... please do try to give this game the gravitas and respect it deserves!

Right, three knips, that gives the next person a free diagonal...

I did feel tempted to interject Ystradowen Halt here - mere nostalgia, i know, and actually banned after the 1953 incident so I shall up the ante with Canada Waters

I hate to say it...But after reading details of that incident for myself a while ago, my understanding is that such a move can only be played before eight minutes to eight in the evening! Umpire?... :)

To stay on the safe side just in case I'm wrong, I'll try a move that should be valid from both stations - London Bridge! 8)
Please change here for Gore, Bloodshed, the London Dungeon, and Death's holiday home! <D

No, he's OK. The call of two stations without interchange after a Dollis Hill Loop, prohibits any calls for Spoon for six turns. It would be a different matter if the East London line was still open :o
Let's play an Inkerman's Cross and go to Tower Hill

I'm going to implement the alternative transport rule 46c as listed in the 4th edition of Stovolds - Via the DLR and a rather contrived British Airways ECS move between London City & Heathrow - And drop us into Heathrow Terminals I, II & III. 8)
(Unfortunateley, that also puts the Waterloo & City line in knip for the next 16 turns... :| )

Sorry Royston...Under the Sheffield convention of 1978CE, a direct move to Mornington Crescent from any station outside of the Circle Line is fully barred due to the routeing restrictions that apply to cash fares. As we opened the game with the Stovolds book, Travelcards and Oyster can't be used for any moves outside of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund Großbereich. :)

Therefore - Applying the Allen-Kempton enforcement/move exception in this case - I take a second consecutive move and take us to Rayners Lane. 8)

Oh pissflaps, a schoolboy error.

I mistakenly assumed that the 1964 Convention of Terrington St Clements applied here, but of course the Kübelpfeiffer Perimeter Clause to which you refer was ratified at the 1978 meeting (which was a gruelling 8 day bloodbath by all accounts).

In knip for me methinks... see you in 3 moves.

Using Pearson's Local Journeys stratagem, first used in that unforgettable 1981 European Championship semi-final between Abdalla and Zaidi (and when we see a match with players like those two again, eh?), I'll go to Ealing Common

Oops, forgot to say that's forcing the Ilford Shunt of course...
