Morning false panic alarm moments

Hello all,

Not often I get these, I'm sure it's happened to us all! I'd like to hear some funny ones though!

A panic alarm for example, this morning I jolted out of bed when I saw the time was 09:30, I panicked wondering why the alarm hadn't gone off as I was supposed to be on a tour feeder at 07:00, but quickly realised it was Sunday, not Monday.

I've had worst though, when I worked at the Job Centre as a contractor I woke up at the time I should have started, so I leap out of bed, throw uniform on, straight out the door, half way to work then remembered it was my day off! Spun round back home!

I've only once made it to work (at a supermarket) for them to tell me 'what you doing here?? It's your day off' at least they told me though!

I know of one of the guys at where I work now did that, only he woke up at the time he should have left the yard for a school run (in a coach), so jumped out of bed drove over to the yard (a good 8 or so miles drive) to find it locked...it was a Bank Holiday!

not quite the same, but once I was getting sleepy on my way home from work so pulled over, switched off the engine, pushed the seat back, set my alarm for half an hr... and then dreamt that I was crashing... needless to say woke up in a panic, foot jammed on the brake, fighting to steer the car... it took a good 15 mins to work out what the hell had happened.

Many a time after clock change in the autumn arriving at work a whole hour early Monday morning, when I worked in town.

I seem to have a habit of changing all the clocks in the house bar the one next to my bed these days.

Don't have that problem in spring as the alarm on my phone wakes me up.

Real false alarm only happened to me once, also at clock change one year many moons ago, when I leapt out of bed thinking it was 5 o'clock, needing to get the 4.30 train to make my flight. It turned out it was actually 3 o'clock as I adjusted the clock the wrong way the previous night. I didn't realise until I rang for a taxi and was informed of the time by the guy at the other end.

Driving home last night (M25 then A41) I had absolutely no recollection of turning off the motorway and when I left the A41 took the wrong exit while trying to work out why junction 19 had changed.

When I worked at sea we did watches of six hours on and six hours off.

One time I woke up with an overwhelming feeling of being late for no reason at all. It was around three in the morning.

I hottailed it out of bed, started throwing my clothes on and ran out in the direction of my Captain and sat down next to him requesting a handover and profusely apologising for being late.

He started at me for some time blankly before simply saying, "Intermodal - go back to bed, you aren't up for 4 hours".
