Are you sure you mean TPE? They operate one per hour now, they would not have the stock or crew or paths to go to 4 trains per hour.

TPE are still operating a reduced service on the WCML with some Glasgow services missing. It won't be 4 trains per hour and it wasn't pre pandemic anyway but the full timetable is thought to be coming back this year.

Hopefully the last remaining Glasgow to West Midlands services come back, they're currently on Blackpool services. Still grateful that 2/3 of them returned last year.

TPE currently run a Glasgow and an Edinburgh per HR so it's more than one per hour now isn't it. The MD announced an uplift so there must be something in the pipeline.

They don't. At best they run an hourly Scottish service from Manchester alternating to Edinburgh and Glasgow, but with gaps in the Glasgow frequency. Any uplift would be filling gaps in the service to Glasgow to restore it to every two hours.

It's not, it's one Anglo-Scottish TPE per hour, alternating Edinburgh or Glasgow but with Glasgow currently having a few missing trains in the timetable pattern.

There used to be services through to airport from glasgow at approx 0700, 1100, 1500 and 1900 and corresponding returns some of those gone completely and some curtailed at preston, I'd assume its these that are returning giving a 1tph between airport alternating glasgow/edinburgh maybe also return of the full liverpool services from glasgow currently 1 instead of 3

EDIT which currently has 34tpd through Carlisle plus a couple of Lancaster terminators if I've counted correctly.

Good news if true – I think that capacity should be enough to cater for demand for some time to come, although eventually ramping up Liverpool services to be 1tp2h at least as far as Carlisle would be even better.

There are still TPE trains that terminate at Preston or Oxford Road rather than running through to the Airport.
