Mrs O has just received a letter from NXEC containing the following paragraph:
"We are, however, experiencing technical difficulties with voucher printing and are unable to print any voucher compensation. This issue has been escalated to the highest level and we anticipate to have this resolved within the next two weeks"
(Ignore the slightly odd phraseology). So is this:-
a) The compensation system at NXEC is overloaded and in meltdown
b) The printer has bust and it isn't worth replacing seeing as the franchise is not about to last long
c) Compensation payments are being put on hold until the franchise goes under, leaving someone else up pick up the tab.
d) NXEC have been taken over by the Zarg aliens and find it impossible to run the simplest system
Are any other franchises having difficulties with compensation vouchers?

Probably a huge backlog causing problems after all the claims which resulted from the NXEA strike. IIRC they use the same Customer Services (Newcastle) for this type of thing ATM

The cynical side of me says (c), although I would like to think the system of franchising will not allow them to get away with it.

You may also like to look at this particular musing about NXEC on Railway Eye... I would be more than severely irritated if they had the cheek to do this to me!

I had sent 2 delay forms to NXEC last month in the same envelope - relating to delays on both outward & return journeys to Newcastle last month.

Yesterday I received 2 of these letters, in separate envelopes.

Wait, even though NXEC are losing money they can waste it on two envelopes??

Not too sure about that, dispatch of XC services at Edinburgh is carried out by XC themselves.

Update:

I received 2 letters with the vouchers this morning, so taking postal delays due to the postal struck into consideration, they must have been posted within 24 hours of the original letters saying that there would be a delay in sending out the vouchers.
