Get the delay forms out again, problems on the GEML with a derailed freight train near Chitts Hill - between Marks Tey and Colchester.

Just as the Overhead wire prob at Ingatestone had cleared...!

Train services between Colchester and Marks Tey are being disrupted due to a derailed freight train. Cancellations, alterations and delays of up to 45 minutes can be expected. Buses are currently replacing trains between Colchester and Witham. There is currently no estimate for a normal service to resume.

Actually both lines are shut at present. Derailment happened near Chitts Hill. (between Colchester - Marks Tey)

Any idea of the working/traction?

Its possible that the down line could re-open soon, athough as this section is not signalled for Bi-directional running (yet) it'll be one way only.

whoops, I was thinking of the wrong line - as I typed that I thought of it as an up service which had derailed!! (i put it down to too many delays in the last week), as Down services will run KEL-COL via the Up

And on the West Anglia...

2100 SSA-LST has had a fatality.

Train has ended up about 200 yards from Harlow Town up road.

Driver shaken but not in shock - a spare driver boarded at Bishops travelling in the cab as pax.

BTP, paramedics and NR on scene at 2155.

And yeah, I'm on board, was in the first carriage too...
