They have had 25 of them for around 10 years now, IIRC they were ordered to work into Austria due to the TRAXX locos not being cleared there originally.

I have always got the impression that since the TRAXX types were passed to work in Austria, DB have never really known what to do with the 182s. Although allocated to the freight sector, they have had booked IC work in the past but now Regio have taken them on and are putting them through works so that they are compatable with the latest Dosto stock.

They can currently be found on Dresden S1 (utter waste IMO, what's wrong with a 143?), Leipzig / Cottbus REs and Halle (Saale) / Eisenach RBs (also a waste!)
