Wow!! Lancaster gets better and better and better. The new toilets on platform 3 are THE BEST new toilets on platform 3 at Lancaster Station!!!!!

I was speaking to the wonderful staff and they told me the curry house opens in September!!

They also said there are plans for a Greggs at the station. This would be so perfect. A pub. A curry house. A toilet. A Greggs. A coffee shop. THE BEST staff.

Is there a better station on the network?

There is not.

Hard to think of one, no :)

Where exactly could a Greggs go, unless it replaced the Costa on platform 4?

could be like the "Bitesize" stores like the one at dartford.

Avanti seem to be on a refurb push at the moment Stoke also were having their toilets done last time i passed through,

Stood on p5 looking across you can clearly see the staircase that's been there since forever. It looks like its second flight comes out right where you describe.

I heard that the arch next to WH Smith was now exposed so I rushed to Lancaster to see!

It is!

It looks amazing! Staff say it’ll be the opening to the curry house!!!

They also say Greggs will open soon.

Yum yum.

next you need to start a campaign to reopen your station so you can catch a train to the curry house and pub

Greggs is great, however I generally find that they close too early of an evening to be useful.

The Lancaster city centre Greggs is open until 8pm. The Costa at the station is open until 7.30pm so if they match that it's not too bad.

Off Topic but ... whilst I generally agree, if travelling by rail the Greggs at Leeds station is open to 2200, the one just outside the doors at Manchester Piccadilly until 2300 & the one opposite Newcastle Central until 0400.

22:00 would be fine for me.

Excellent. I think the one at Wakefield Westgate is one of the earlier closers in my experience.

I was going to get the train from the most wonderful station and saw that there is now a lovely fence and lovely lights on platform 6!!!

The stationmaster thinks it’ll be open in November now. I cannot wait! So excited!
