There is an Anytime Single (SOS) from the ECML which is valid via Moorgate, however you cannot get itineraries via Kings Cross to show. Is it valid to Moorgate via Kings Cross using the interavailability to Moorgate?

Where from and where to?
Any Permitted tickets to London Terminals with validity between Finsbury Park and Kings Cross are valid to Moorgate via the Northern Line or Met/H&C/Circle Line.
It is not permitted to alight at intermediate stations (except Old Street).
The ticket won’t work the barriers at Kings Cross St Pancras Underground station but staff will let you through.

At a guess, the itineraries are looking at Moorgate National Rail as the destination, using NLC 6005 and CRS Code MOG. However, the Underground platforms at Moorgate use NLC 0645 and CRS Code ZMG.
Many stations with both NR and LU services are similarly split.
