Surprised no-one has mentioned the derailed freight train between Moor Street and Bordesley. Chiltern have been running hourly services past the scene with their other Brum services turning back at Dorridge. London Midland have been running as and when they could, but generally terminating trains from Dorridge at Acocks Green and trains from Stratford-upon-Avon at Spring Road. Some reports suggest the line will close from 19:00, with Chiltern not running North of Solihull (for Brum use XC from Leamington Spa into New Street). I can therefore only assume that no LM services will run between Acocks Green/Spring Road and Birmingham Snow Hill after this time also.

It's because it's not in London or the North. Therefore nobody cares ;)

In all seriousness, the Radio 2 travel has been broadcasting Chiltern "between Marylebone & Birmingham" are affected. No mention of LM. As usual, LM are not running replacement transport. Pax being advised to use local bus services.

Edit: Just heard apparently LM also have 1tph to Dorridge

Maybe he wouldn't have parked it illegally? ;)

Which makes it all the more dubious for an insurance payout. Trains falling on cars maybe, but trains falling on illegally parked cars...?

You wouldn't be laughing if it was your car.

To be honest mate I would be laughing my self silly because I would have taken out insurance and what are the chance's of having to ring your insurance company and say a viaduct fell on my car.

Chances are now the line won't be open until tomorrow night. :D Chiltern services Terminate/Dorridge for the time being.

Bearing in mind there is a 40 min turn around for drivers so it's not all that bad.

what happened on the GE???
The engineering works at Shenfield overran, following the Christmas and New Year closure of Liverpool Street.... which also overran. They say it was not related to the engineering work that closed the line through Shenfield for four days, but actually a problem with the signals in that same area following a 'reboot'. Quite some coincidence (in my opinion) if they indeed weren't related in any way.
