Moor Park Points Failure

The points failure at Moor Park seems to have been knocking on for a few days now on the Metropolitan line.

Any ideas why this is taking so long to rectify?

Metropolitan Line: Severe delays between Chesham and Chalfont & Latimer while we fix a points failure at Chalfont & Latimer and MINOR DELAYS between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Moor Park due to points failure at Moor Park. GOOD SERVICE on the rest of the line.

It's due to a cracked rail at Watford South Junction

No, it is a points failure - it is (was) a cracked rail that forms part of the specialist P&C, taking the relevant points out of use.
