With most re-openings, particularly in England just "pie in the sky" is there any scope for line re-openings using narrow gauge, say metre gauge, using modern swiss equipment off the peg?
There may be a million reasons why this could'nt happen in the UK, there usually are!
Would it in reality be cheaper?
I know the biggest disadvantage would be the inability to run through trains but there must be lots of lines where this would not matter except when running enthusiast specials!
Any experts care to give their views?
