Moderator hours of business

Just a quick one! Do you moderators take it in turn or have shift patterns to do the business on these forums? Do you ever work through the night as well? I notice Mojo quite often spends all evening up untill the wee hours of the morning sometimes

You seem to be asking a lot about administration!

Yorkie is often up at 2am as well.

From what I've seen, it looks like it's just a case of they're on when they're on.

Indeed. Without wanting to mention names, I've noted one admin to be on mainly in the mornings and midday, and two mods seem to be for brief periods during the day.

Of course, the other three members of staff are hidden, but one has sent me a PM at 0403 in the morning, and the other two staff members tend to be on later in the evenings.

So, basically, whenerver they have the time. I would think for brief periods too that this forum is staff-less (i.e. non online).

Don't think Mojo is often up that late, I think there may be some confusion there.

I know Just very interested to learn how this fine forum works. I have been using the internet from its very early years and I have never been interested in Forums until I came across this at the beginning of the year. I lost my job at the end of last year and was down-in-the-dumps, but this forum has managed to get me through it (start new job on Monday) and I'll always be very grateful to the forum for that

I remember in the summer of 2006 using the internet kiosk at Preston station a few times from around 0400, after getting off the Highland Sleeper after a 37 bash from Fort Bill. Happy days! And, just once, I managed to get off a diverted sleeper at York and cycle home at 4am - much better than the fester at Preston waiting for the first train across the Pennines! I must have got up at about 4.30am to get to Leeds for the Retro Oxford Christmas Extravaganza too, not willing to do that again!

strange6 - get yourself on some forum meets! (oh, and you too Matt! You got a mention at yesterday's meal when I mentioned 'line bashing'!)

You should definitely come along, I went along to the meal yesterday first time I've met anyone from the forum and it was a very pleasant evening, also fun to put some faces to names!

From the days when I used to have a red username, we were always just on whenever we were on. But that always tended to work out well, because there are enough mods that there always tends to be someone online at the busier times, and that seems to be true to this day. Of course, things do happen when the mods are offline. So, if you see something happening at 5am (or, indeed, at anytime), then you should press the "report post" button to alert the mods. They'll get an e-mail, and can attend to it as soon as they log back on.

So, although there's no system, it all works perfectly well.
