Modelling snow

Hi all,
Just put some baking powder on my train set to mimic snow and the trains are really struggling to get around my track. Any help or tips on how to get the locos to run better please?

Sounds to me like there is too much of it around the tracks, try and remove some of this. Also, make sure none of it gets inside your locos, the last thing you want is baking powder getting inside the motors!

Not really overal sure about the snow products.

But in the latest Model Rail has a intresting few articals about modeling snow and so on.

What is the next best thing to use instead of Baking powder that won't mess the motors up

As Heinz57 says keep it clear of the tracks.

Or to put it a better way, make sure the baking powder is below the rails in the area of the track.

If you don't baked trains!

I would also suggest cleaning the rails before running any trains.

The rails will have a light coating of baking power on them and that's not very conductive...
