Anyone just been watching the ITV show "Mobile"? The apparent mobile phone hater has just had a shoot out on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway's Gatwick Express 31/Mk2 set, killing all passengers who were using mobile phones. Funny how they show the train driver quite clearly in the locomotive, only for the passengers to go through the crew door into the guards area and suddenly know the driver is dead! Also, the reason for the train driver being killed was because the only way the guards can apparently contact drivers is via their own mobile phones ;)

Gizmogle told me about this, and i fairly sprinted to the telly to see. 31 148 tearing along, with someones brains splattered all over the FGW labelled napkin things on the top of the seats (what are these actually called?) I also laughed at the cheapo FGW branding on the coach sides. lol silly tv bodging it again. it seems a fairly common trait that apparently non-corridor locos (i.e. not HST) always give passengers full access to the crew. The only real thing I remember about the first Harry Potter film is Emma Watson saying shes been to see the driver, regardless of the fact the loco is Great Western with a non-corridor tender. She must have been pretty athletic to get up over the tender and over the bunker and back to be so clean lol :)

ROFL!!! you see i go anywhere near coal and it get dirty, i jsut seem to attracht dirt lol!

I was watching that, and I can remember some ridiculous brand name on the side, anyone remember what it was?

And yes, I can also remember thinking "so how did they do that then" when the walked from the carriage to the supposed drivers cab!

Yep. I have it recorded and it's "National Connect" with a double swoosh beside it. Presumably to avoid legal battles, there is no real TOC mentioned, but the route is London Euston to Liverpool/Manchester area, which you'ld expect to be Virgin WCML Pendolinos. The livery is quite definately not FGW purple, it looks more like the old BR livery. If you look at the interior you see "City to City" and "Relaxing Comfortable" as well. The double swoosh is on the coach to vestibule doors, alongside "Express", as well as on the antimacassers (labled napkin things), where it says "First", which I presume means First Class. On the topic of non-corridor tenders, it quite clearly is marking on the interior a different set!! Does anyone know where "Euston" was filmed? It's definately a NR station but it looks more like Leeds than Euston - can you confirm that?

I'd say it was the real Euston.

I do remember a film crew a few months back at Euston...

It was something similar to National Connect, it was only shown for a few seconds...

Clarification - the only shoot people who use "Carsoncom", a fictitious mobile phone operator.

OT - Memorex, your sig makes this too long. can you fix that?

Because, osmwhat realistically, all of the fones have dodgy carsoncom stickers on them . Also, do those those quite coaches exist in Mk2 coaches ???
