MNR: Norwich - Dereham direct with EMT 17/18 October

[jamesontheroad]

Caught sight of an advert in the Eastern Daily Press yesterday (Saturday 10 October) from the Mid Norfolk Railway announcing that "thanks to our friends and subject to availability", there'll be direct services between Dereham and Norwich next weekend, 17/18 October.

The print advert points readers to the website, but there's not much info there. I know in previous years EMT have provided a 156 for these services, but I can't locate any times yet. I presume tickets will be available on board for anyone who wants to travel from Norwich to Dereham?

Unfortunately East Midlands Trains are unable to supply a unit for this event this year, due to not enough spare units since the Matlock to Nottingham services were extended to Newark. I suppose this makes sense when 158889 has been hired in from SWT to help boost the EMT fleet.

Regardless of the running to Norwich issue, it would be good if the MNR website could get a timetable up for the "Multiple Units & Classic Transport Weekend". With less than four days to go, there's only fares at the moment, no times.

If they're still trying to get a unit for Norwich running arranged they might consider that even some provisional timetables (with/without Norwich and clearly marked provisional) would be better than nothing.
