I arrived at Luton station today to see some significant delays, mostly for EMT services. I am particularly interesting in a certain Corby service (1224 I believe).

It showed/ is showing online as being cancelled due to a security alert. But it arrived Luton on Platform 3 about 1330, was covered in a black substance, and definitely went out with passengers on board. The 4th carriage sounded a little rough as it departed.

I was hoping someone could shed some light on what happened? Sources are contradicting what my eyes saw.

Thank you.

I was caught in this waiting for a Sheffield service. Control had nothing more to say than "security incident" and "fire and rescue were called". Nothing moving south of Bedford for a time allegedly, but I got out of STP only slightly late and passed a pair of 37's on radio survey waiting to get into the station, so things must've been moving for a little while.

I was actually going to go Nottingham today! I'm so glad I didn't, here's why:
A signalling problem is causing disruption at Nottingham.
Some trains are now running, although the following alterations may still apply until further notice:
Buses may replace trains between Nottingham and Alfreton
Buses may replace trains between Nottingham and Derby
Buses may replace trains between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway
Buses may replace trains between Nottingham and Lincoln
Buses may replace trains between Worksop and Bulwell (for travel between Bulwell and Nottingham, passengers should use the Tram, where a separate fare will need to be paid)
Journeys on all routes through Nottingham are being delayed by up to 90 minutes

Suspicious package delivered to kempston fire station, which backs onto the mml. Turned out to be a hoax, plus signalling probs at radlett.

I got the 2015hrs from St Pancras to leicester and had no problems. This train goes onto Nottingham and the TM announced that Nottingham station was now open as normal.
We never got held up with the Bedford incident either.

The whole point of delay repay is to include all incidents, even when outside the railway's control, which is the main difference to the old schemes.

EMT's web form mentions no exclusions, but there is a 28 day time limit.
