Anyone got any idea what's happening?

At Kentish Town and there's a 222 in the far south bound platform not going anywhere, a 319 in the southbound thameslink platform with a 700 currently waiting at a signal not 200m away!

As per the title, a lineside fire in the Hendon area has closed the MML. Nearby M1 motorway is also closed. I imagine St Pancras is hectic right now.

Jon stopped all lines , plus the M1 due to a builders yard well ablaze in the Hendon area - came past on the 1604 fast Bedford - and did not look that serious , but it clearly has got worse.

Let us pray there are no gas cylinders around with what that entails in terms of exclusion zones etc.

Fire Brigade update:
- fire at builders' merchant
12 April 2017

Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters and officers have been called to a large fire at a builders' merchant in Brent Park Road, Brent Cross. Two aerial appliances are also at the scene to help tackle the blaze from above.

A wood working workshop measuring around 100 metres by 20 metres is currently alight.

Station Manager Claiton Murray who is at the scene said: "This is a large, challenging fire and crews are working extremely hard to bring it under control as quickly as possible. Around half of the workshop is alight. The fire is producing a considerable amount of smoke so we are advising people living and working in the area to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution."

Local road closures are in place and the M1 is closed in both directions from junction 1 to junction 4. The train line between Hendon and Cricklewood is also closed, affecting East Midlands and Thameslink train services. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and commuters should check travel updates.

The Brigade's 999 control officers have taken more than 20 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 1545. Fire crews from Hendon, Stanmore, West Hampstead and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Doesn't seem to be any EMT service south of Luton at the moment. Just dashed across to Euston to get north, in line with general advice swilling around at St Pancras.

It's a big one - gas cylinders involved (and exploding).

M1 has been shut for nearly 3 hours also.

I'd be surprised if there was a quick resolution.

M1 has reopened, no word on the MML however.

The MML is right in the middle of the two, the build3rs backs right up to the railway, so might still be in a limited exclusion zone, also reported elsewhere that a signal gantry and the ohle was getting eather warm.

Just spoke a BTP officer on the STP gate line who mentioned there was a couple of explosions and no opening time yet.

Now sat on a rather cosey 365 :D.

Looking at OTT maps, looks like the fast and slow lines have reopened, with the Hendon Lines (freight only) still closed.

Some lines reopened with a 5mph restriction. Apparently the Fire Service are not keen on electric traction through the area either. EMT & TL effectively still suspended; EMT don't want to run anything through to St Pancras.

Apparently due to the heat of the fire earlier, a signal gantry keeps reigniting.

There is potential to run a limited service on Thameslink starting at some point overnight. If you're heading for any services overnight or tomorrow morning, you'd be best advised to check for movement via departure boards and realtime maps. :)

All those displaced units won't be good for the final morning commute before easter, even if the line is running fine by morning.

1W72 has currently been stood at a red signal on Platform 2 at Blackfriars for about half an hour, with 2W78 just arrived on Platform 1 using bidirectional working. These two Northbound trains may form part of the reopening for TL passenger service, but we'll see.

No, indeed. Displaced TL ECS moves blocking other stock have also caused impacts around the Southern network, and I suspect there might be a handful of short formations at the start of service for SN, if anything unforeseen occurs with the juggling act.

Yep, was just about to post. Fast Lines apparently have a 20mph limit for the time being, though.

Any word on what the restriction is for?

Another big lineside fire this evening, this time at Purfleet! Like London buses, two come along at once!

Presumably the 20 was on because there were firefighters and their equipment on adjacent tracks, ie the Hendons.

Looks like the Thameslink controllers have done a cracking job overnight - very little disruption on the MML this morning. The southbound peak so far has been largely to time, with 2 cancellations expected around 0830.

Excellent job in the circumstances.

I wonder what they would have done if full Thameslink (2019) was operating.

The Welwyn route I guess would operate as normal and the St Albans route would terminate at Blackfriars with some going to Kentish Town?

Combination of Blackfriars, London Bridge, Kentish Town and West Hampstead.

A fire in Brent Cross caused disruption on the Thameslink line yesterday.
I checked Realtime Trains today to try to work out which train I got home(from SAC to HLN).

Realtime Trains shows all trains were cancelled around 1930; roughly when I boarded. I guess that I got on some sort of emergency service.

Is there a way to find out which trains actually ran?
