I want to know what coaches went behind both class 47s and 86s regards large fans or twin fans. I need to know somI can model appropriate trains from 1988 to 1996. Thanks. Nobody is giving me the answer I need
I've already tried to explain that all types appeared; that there are
3 types of fan arrangements on Mk2 air-cons and the bit about Bescot has been explained by another member.
With the greatest of respect, without modifying your question I don't see what else I can add.
You put the era as 1988-96, I've explained that formations varied within that period and I put what options there were.
For anywhere in that general area, I put all the LMR Mk2 air-con formations.
Within that, the XC formations are probably the most relevant.
If you want simplicity the 1992-96 (and beyond) formation of 7 coaches is the most straightforward.
That is: Mk2F RFB, 5 TSO (2E or 2F), BSO (2E or F), both 47s and 86s hauled trains of this formation.
Mk2Fs all have Temperature Ltd air-con equipment, this has one large fan on all vehicle types.
Mk2Es all have Stones air-con equipment, this has two small fans on TSOs and FOs and one small fan on BSOs.
As I said though, I did explain all this within my earlier post.
