In a thread about derelict locos there was a link to this site. The picture is the interior of Mk 2C SO (Standard Open), that was converted from an FO (First Open) that was declassified. What strikes me is the vehicle has been refurbished with InterCity style interiors, i.e. the pink seat moquette and patterned carpet that InterCity used in the late 1980s. Anyone know what vehicle this is and why it was refurbished? I wasn't aware of any Mk 2C's that got refurbished by InterCity as they were up for disposal pretty quick.

I'm unsure which it is but can say for sure that it is not 6411. RRT/Mk.2 Coach Society also had 6400/14/15 but I wonder if this may be the former NIR vehicle 903, if perhaps NIR got some of that moquette too?

A bit more investigation work, and I've found AlexS is right, it is ex NIR, but not the one I quoted (903). 903 didn't have any 'No Smoking' signs on it, but I've found a picture I have of 901, which did, and the coach next to it is in the same position too - so I think it's pretty safe to say it is NIR 901. Incidentally, this is a Mk.2b rather than a Mk.2c.

Thanks for the quick replies. So I take it this is one of the Mk 2B FK/SK rebuilds for NIR?
