When ordering things off the internet would it be possible to ask the seller not to use Evri?
As the saying goes, you can always ask.....whether you get is another matter.

The problem is if you make an order, you are effectively committing yourself to using the seller's chosen delivery method. If you ask in advance, say by email, then how do you then place an order using your chosen delivery company? If you place an order outside the eBay or Amazon system, then you won't be protected by their buyer protections. The seller may likewise be reluctant to go that route, for fear of losing their protection. You would really want the seller to amend the listing to allow it. How easy that would be I have no idea.

I suggested to a seller once that they stopped using EVRI as parcels were just being dropped over our wall, they replied that using any other couriers would probably make their business unviable.
Does it cost them anymore to offer a choice of courier? Many eBay sellers do. That way those prepared to pay extra for a better courier would at least have the option.

Surely they can find a way of showing that the seller performed but the courier didn't?
This cuts both ways - I had a 100% satisfaction rating, then I shipped 6 packages (using an InPost Locker) 5 were collected and delivered, then I ogot a query from a buyer, the goods had not turned up. The only info I had was that it had been accepted at the locker - and for all I knew was still in there as I had no Evri collected info. I then get an email from the buyer a week later saying it had finally be delivered. eBasyh however gave me a strike for not sending it quickly enough. I appealed, but they refused to amend it. I stopped selling as a result.

Evri is belive or not one of the better couriers round here, as stated previously I had a word with him and he confirmed he had made no deliveries to my address for a while, however it transpired he'd had a coupe of days off around the time of the non delivery, so who knows what happened to it. Evri could not provide proof of delivery.
A couple of years ago I had a DPD parcel delivered to the wrong address, I got an email with a photo, complete with pink fluffy slippers, of my parcel being delivered, I contacted the seller who said he would replace the missing items and sort out the problem with the couriers, sure enough the replacement items were delivered the next day, so I suppose I expected the same from this seller.

That sort of nonsense on eBay's part - hammering people for something that's completely out of their control - is one of the reasons I changed to having my own website instead of selling on eBay.
