One of the worst is the old-style beeping of reversing trucks... the modern low buzz type is far less invasive, but Tesco for one seem slow to adopt them universally.

I was travelling on the WC Mainline on Friday, it had a number of disruptions which meant that the trains which did run were extra crowded, however some passengers would not move their bags off seats next to them to allow standing passengers to sit, even when asked to do so by train crew. I thought that was bang out of order. <( The train and platform staff however were very, professional, calm and composed in what must be very difficult conditions to work.:D

Only on RailUK can both Deltics and Nigel Farage be referred to in the same sentence...

That's a big assumption.
The love of his life could well be a Deltic, or even a 442! :)

The missus has to regularly compete for my attentions when it comes to anything with an EE traction motor and a reciprocating compressor. ... Poor girl.

I'm amazed that you get away by referring to the love of your life as the "missus". My wife would go nuts if I did that.

The missus, err indoors, the ball and chain, or my favourite 'She who must be obeyed', been practicing for when I get married next year.

Most of these have already been mentioned but these all annoy me:

Snoring
Sniffing
Heavy breathing
Whistling
Noisy eating generally, I find crunching more annoying than chewing
Sound leaking from other peoples headphones
Squeaks and rattles on cars/trains/buses

Animal noises don't generally both me, with the exception of buzzing flies and a particular type of bird, I don't what species, who's call is a monotone squeaky whistle.

When I am sitting in a pub and log onto my local news website and the page contains a pop up ad complete with deafening soundtrack and I have to stab buttons frantically to get the damned thing to shut up.
