Misfortune after doing a good deed

I suffered misfortune yesterday after doing a good deed. As I was getting off a train, I politely let a family go past first. Unfortunately they were not getting off so blocked the door and were rude when I asked to get past. I then had to push my way out as people boarded.

Anyone else suffered misfortune from doing a good deed on public transport?

I moved from the seat next to my Mum's wheelchair space so a pram could get on today, but the mean git repeatedly rammed the chair into my Mum's feet, next time I'll see him I'll make sure his feet hurt too.

Also once someone asked to get past at a bus stop queue and then barged in front of everyone and got on the bus first.

I had an incident Friday when I was catching the bus. The bus pulled in but no-one got up to board it. Then when I boarded the bus thinking that I was the only one that wanted it and assumed that the others were waiting for the other service (I think it was a 56 or something). I had my Fish and Chips in my bag and some wiseguy that opened the windows on the bus muttered "I hope your dinner goes cold!". So I turned round and said why didn't you get up and board then? Its not a taxi service mate! :roll:. The weather was roasting and my backpack is weatherproof, so I kind of had a smugged grin when he said such a stupid and petty remark.

Don't get me wrong, I do not and have never intentionally jumped a bus queue. But what do you do when your bus arrives and the others just sit there day dreaming and don't bother to get up to board it? I asked twice if anyone wanted this bus and no-one answered me. Thick or what? :roll:. So I just got on as I needed to be somewhere :).

The other day I was at the bus stop on Longcauseway in Dewsbury waiting for a 281/283 when one turned up. Though I'd been there longer than everyone else I stood back to let others on, and 2 others thanked me and got on ahead. I then joined the queue to board, and I vaguely noticed that an old lady joined the queue behind me although she hadn't responded when I'd stepped back. Once I'd sat down near the back, this one woman followed me, glared at me and just said "rude!" and rolled her eyes before going back to sit at the front of the bus!

I won't disagree with that mate. But there is also karma and comeuppance for those that are nasty with other people. I have seen it when conceited arrogant people come a cropper and they don't like it one bit :lol:. Sometimes we have to play the waiting game. But as they say "every dog has its day" ;).
