Minimum fare with split tickets

Am I correct in my understanding that if I'm making a journey using split tickets with a 26-30 railcard for which the total fare is more than £12 that it's acceptable for individual tickets to cost less than £12 given it's per journey not per ticket?

Second somewhat related question is does anyone know of an app where I can quickly buy tickets for a days journey without having to select trains etc. and which will let me buy a Railcard discounted anytime ticket for <£12?

I'd say no, on the basis that the minimum fare seems to apply to fares, not journeys, as per the Terms & Conditions for 26-30 Railcards. Unless it's maybe advance tickets being bought.

I’d agree with @Mcr Warrior, and think you would be highly likely to find yourself the wrong side of a discussion with a revenue officer fairly quickly if you did it on a regular basis.

If you want to get the 26-30 railcard abolished a lot of people attempting to do this would be a good start. Just think yourself lucky - when I was 26-30 there were no railcard concessions for me or the two of us or family and friends. Just the full fare.

The GTR, SE and TicketyBoo website/app all allow you to repurchase a recently bought ticket without searching for itineraries. You can also mark a ticket as 'favourite' whilst it's in your basket and you can then do the same thing via the Favourites menu, without needing to buy it in the first place.

It applies to the individual fare, not the whole journey.

The forum ticketing site will take all this into account and calculate all this for you.

It's per ticket, even if it's badly worded.

I'm not sure if RDG deliberately word things badly (perhaps in order to catch people out), or if they are so badly lacking in competence that they genuinely can't do work to even a fairly basic standard. I'm going to assume the latter in this case.

I'm 63 and whilst there were no 26-30 or 2-Together railcards, there certainly was a family railcard. It's just that I wasn't eligible while 26-30 because I was too old as a child and hadn't started my own family just then.
