Minimum distance for a SVR (Off Peak Return) ticket

Hey,
First post so bear with me, I did have a little look around but found no answer. What is the distance required for a SVR return? Is there a definitive answer or does it vary?

It varies - generally around 30ish miles is the minimum distance where you can expect a SVR or SOR ticket rather than just day returns.

There are exceptions though - especially for airport journeys where period returns may be available over shorter distances, and there are some journeys (especially in the former NSE area) where longer journeys will only have a day return.

Yeah I ask because I live in Guildford and there's no SVR return. Going via Woking is just over 30 miles but via Cobham is just under it, bit of a bugger really!

Scarborough-Seamer takes some beating at just under 3 miles. I bet no-one can find a shorter distance than that!

If you mean London, then get an SVR to somewhere like Finsbury Park (£24.40 without a Railcard)

Just a few examples - Clapham Junction to:

Northampton - Saver Return available, no Open Return
Gatwick Airport - Open Return available, no Saver Return
Woking - Day Returns only
Westbury - Saver and Open Returns available

Sorry, yeah to London. Yeah it's not to bad buying 2 singles to London Terminals £10.10 each. I'm not complaining or anything, just made me wonder if there's an actual distance that it needs to be, clearly not!

We have market based pricing, not distance based.

Strictly speaking my example is not a rail service, but SORs are available on the shuttle bus between Luton Airport Parkway and Luton Airport (less than 2 miles apart).
