Does anyone have any idea as to the future of Millerhill yard? Have been up there a couple of times recently and all is quiet apart from the Borders link.It used to be quite a busy place a number of years ago but it seems rare to see anything there now,so why have DB Schenker still got the place?:-?

omg I remember my first visit to Millerhill - 1970 - about 1 dozen Claytons (Class 14 or 15?) - sorry about being OT - memories.

Latest info about Millerhill Yard has Scotrail planning to build a depot on old up yard reception siding area. Still at planning state but I have seen preminary designs. Also plans for a refuse depot on old Down yard sidings area have been mentioned a few times but nothing yet definate as far as I know. I did note however plans for the Borders railway included a road access bridge to this planned site on Networkrail design drawings.
The Signalbox has just closed with control being transferred to Edinburgh IECC workstation 2.
New Bridge Deck being installed at Niddrie South Junction last weekend effectively closing the line making the yard even quieter than normal!
Lastly I believe ownership of the yard is being transferred to Networkrail as are many other freight only yards across the country.
Claytons were indeed class 17

A new maintenance and stabling facility for EGIP EMU's is to be constructed at Millerhill Yard. It was mentioned in the CP5 Business Plan.
