I'll hopefully have my mileage final total for 2016 by the end of the week or the start of next. I'm going to have a look through my written journey logs and see if there's any journeys I may have forgotten to transfer to my mileage spreadsheet.

A total of 1275 miles for december leaves me with with 26810 for the year. Thats well past my initial target for the year of 20000 but just over 1100 short of my stretch target of 28000.

Not sure where that leaves me in the table as I cant load it, but I beat last years total by over 2000miles.

Aiming for 25000 for this year.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
My mileage for the final quarter of 2016 is 7594. Most of October's mileage of 4541 was made up of my big birthday bashing trip which bagged me 2750 miles. A meeting in London the following week saw me bag an additional 950 miles, with a conference in Manchester at the end of the month had me getting another 751 miles in the bag as I tied in a Cheshire Day Ranger into my trip.

November saw me get 1364 miles in the bag, with most of the mileages coming from doing some bits and pieces in the West Riding of Yorkshire and the West Midlands. Both of these in total came to 1296 miles.

December had me on 1689 miles, with this mainly coming from a weekend meeting in London at the start of the month, and the remainder coming from the festive period when visiting my mum. I also did some bits and pieces in the West Midlands before heading back north.

This brings me to 27005 miles for 2016, compared to 18077 for 2015. It is noted that the big jump can be attributed to August when I did the Freedom of Severn and Solent Rover, where I had the 8 from 15 days version, and went back for some second helpings the following week. Also, there was my big birthday bash in October as well which played a part in the big mileage jump.

A question I ask myself: How can I equal 2016's final mileage in 2017? This would be a very big ask of me, but I would be happy to have 20000 miles in the bag at the end of 2017.

My total for 2016 was 31,902 miles, but I doubt I'll get close to that again this year.

My target for this year is 20,000 miles, so I'll have to average around 1,600 miles a month to reach that total.

I highly doubt I'll get anywhere near last year's total. As there is less I need to see, not much incentive to go far.
May take a trip to Exeter and Devon in a few months though.

Spent a fair part of today putting the last couple of months into railmiles - quite therapeutic in a way :P - Hoping this will make it easier to avoid backlogs of stuff.

I thought that, then didn't update it for 6 months, with all the moves in note form on my phone!

Finishing January on 533 miles this year. February already has a number of trips planned.

I complete 2016 with 12744 miles (not including tram mileage as I haven't bothered to work it out this year), which is actually up on 2015 by around 500 miles - kind of surprising given I only had a railcard for the first 3 months of the year!

2017 is likely to be a less productive year on the mileage front - my entire January consisted of a a Voyager from Birmingham International to New Street (yep, my first traction of the year was a wedged 220! :() and a HST up to Yorkshire!
