August: 476 miles
September: 530 miles

Just an update that for the next week there will be a period where the Mileage Competition league tables for all years will not be available. You can still update your 2016 mileage in the usual way and this will still be saved and will appear in the league table when it is available.

Well I managed to hit the 20k barrier, and now stand at 20,043 miles. I haven't be able to go out on the rails for leisure in the last couple of months on account of work being super busy (hence the lack of trip reports and activity on the forum). I won't get out before Christmas so doubt this will increase much before the end of the year.

This is probably why

I'm not too bothered about the table not showing, I'm so far down it after all it's not worth me looking

My penultimate RailMiles update is done, and I will have another to do after tomorrow's trip to Manchester. For now though I'm on 14,205 miles in 2016! Absolutely smashed the 12,000 target and obliterated the average of 1,000 miles per month target too :D

Hoping to clear 14,500 by tomorrow evening!

Lucky you - I have tried 3 different browsers on 3 different machines and all I get are 2 advertising banners.:(

Well it was, but it's stopped working again, although that's to be expected after the mileage table downtime was announced.

Good luck Tech, hopefully I'll clear the 30,000 mile mark this month. I should do, but we'll see!

I am up to 57,956 pending a number of small updates and anything between now and the end of New Year's Eve. It has been very busy this year with long-distance commuting and holidays, plus days out and 'bashing' trips. I have included *everything* even the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway :D I doubt next year will be as big as this sadly.

When I have finished I will endeavour to post some of my statistics from RailMiles. It's taking rather more data input than I would really like to get there but I feel it is worth it. Perhaps there are some suggestions I could make to improve it, such as showing the operator code in the main journey screen.

Well my total so far is 17286 and I am now hoping for another trip or two before the end of the year, but I have smashed my target too which was my 2015 total of 12412. The scary thing is that I want to set the target as my 2016 total to improve year on year......how on the earth am I going to do that!!!

I don't I'm afraid Kite! Edinburgh Gateway is recognised as a location in the subscriber version of RailMiles, but no data is yet in the system. Which annoys me for light rail moves too, which aren't recognised on the system despite Metrolink having existed for years and data available...

Anyway, I've just completed my final RailMiles update of 2016. I end the year on 14,600 miles, 2600 more than I originally expected to get! Below then are my targets for 2017:

- 12,000 miles before the end of 2017
- 500 UK winners
- 200 shack scores from the UK at minimum (not including non-UK ones in this target in 2017!)
- 200 new sights from the UK alone.

Easy enough that should be, but we'll see. I do have the final chapter of my 2016 Rolling Review to finish, which I hope to get done in the coming days during my commuting. Meanwhile, it's some more prep for 2017...

Looks like my total of 2016 is 52,708.5 miles, just under a thousand more than last year.

I doubt next year will be as much, running out of stuff to go after within the South East.

An incredible total, same for Minilad for that matter.

You've got 345s and 707s to go after in the South East soon, your 2017 mileage will still be high ;)

What is the distance on Southern from Clapham Junction to Kensington Olympia?

Also, is realtimetrains a reliable source of distances?

A return to Leeds a couple of days ago means I finish the year on 20,115 miles.
