Just added my mileage to/from London for the weekend there. Will have to work out the mileage I did whilst there when I'm not so busy.

Hopefully I can beat 10,000 miles this year. My 16/25 railcard has now expired, so maybe a fewer journeys. But, I shall be making use of some rangers/rover tickets.

581m 42ch so far in 2014.

377m was for a return on KGX-YRK.

Should add about 1428m 16ch by the end of the month with some trips to Leeds and Exeter which means I should be above 2k for January. Hopefully some trips to Paris and Dublin will increase my mileage.

So far in 2014 I've covered just over 1000 miles, making the use of the £10 day returns from SWT.

Add in 360 miles from doing a Devon Day Ranger ticket on Saturday.

My mission this year is to try and cover as much of the area covered by the Network Rail Card & the Cornwall branch lines.

Now that I've finally got round to working out and adding up my mileage that I did in London etc I'm now over my first 1000 miles for the year.

Does millage count if it is done on heritage railways as a volunteer? I would count it as leisure, but I can see why it may not be counted as it could be classed as work.

I currently sit quietly in the table with a mere 73! However, with a return to Nice booked. I have looked up the mileage from Sheffield and get 2094 for the return journey. This, plus any side trips whilst there, will be added to my total once the trip is complete and put me in contention.

Any objections to 2094?

Well i have had the lowest January since I started this, 719. Normally I come out of Jan with a few thousand. But work put stop to that and now the line near me is gone thats not going to help. I did have a few trips booked on the sleeper to London and beyond but not sure how that will affect things now.

I plan to make use of the SWT £10 day-returns for a day-trip to London, so that is another 144 miles before I even start crossing more of the railway within the London Zones off my list.

Decided to update my 2014 mileage on a monthly basis...assuming i use a train in the particular month. However i've made a good start to the year so far with a 'jolly' to Scotland and covering the 'FGW divvies' to / from Exeter.

Just totted up my mileage for the year, and thus far it is 770. Not a bad (if not a great) start to the year, and with plenty more things in the pipeline for the first 1/2 of the year already :)

My aim for the year is to get 10k. Failing that, to go up rather than down on my mileages from the last couple of years

Leeds - North Berwick and back came in at 504 miles, narrowly my largest 1-day mileage so far.

I'm on 528 for the year so far because of a weekly ''commute'' between Loughborough and Leicester (one way only) for various commitments to do with school, an Anglia Plus Day Ranger on 2nd January and a London trip on 1st February.

On 984m49ch so far this year compared to 799 miles at the same point last year. And with a trip to the South West (not Cornwall or Devon fortunately) at the weekend, that gap will only get bigger.

I don't think my contribution to this years competition will be very significant, for a few months at least. I managed 170 miles in January, and haven't yet done or planned anything in February - don't expect much from March either, but you never know!

These bloody engineering works on the Styal line are costing me a good 15 miles a day, which by the time theyre done, will be almost 1500 miles of potential travelwhereIve been bustituted instead

Seems the railmiles site doesn't recognise the piece of line (the Romford/Upminster Service) between Emerson Park & Upminster, giving me a route and distance going via Romford.

How odd.

Stations in Zone 7/8/9 of the TFL network are rather nice

You need the " (ELL)" suffix. The CRS code for SDC does not work.

RMME said:
Distance: 0mi 53ch - show the route on a map
Route: Shadwell, Whitechapel (ELL)

Script executed in 0.1035 seconds.

Up to 1926 now at 7.5p per mile. Had 3 trips on SWT £10 return tickets where it was standing only.
